The FreeIRT Project

Aims

The FreeIRT Project aims to propose programs for general statistical software packages (SAS, Stata, Splus, R...) that can be used for analysis and validation of scales by using item response theory (IRT) models.

This project was initiated in Februar 2004 by Karl Bang Christensen and Jean-Benoit Hardouin.

Everybody with an interest in item response theory can join the FreeIRT community and the FreeIRT mailing list. They receive by mail informations about news versions of the programs.

The programers

Every member of the FreeIRT community can contribute programs, or modify existing programs. The FreeIRT project web site present all these programs.

Rules

The programs stored in the FreeIRT database must verify some rules (see a description of these rules).

Rules concerning the programs of the FreeIRT database

All programs of the FreeIRT database are free of charge and can be used freely. The authors of the programs are free to remove them from the project at any time if they wish to do so. Revisions of the program for which they are not the main author are kept in the FreeIRT database.
